Artist Inspiration
Process:With my piece I wanted to use "The Flying Dutchman" as my art piece inspiration. In "The Flying Dutchman" the ship is in the background and looks as if the ship will be taken down by high tides. You can also see a row boat that looks like the men in it may have escaped form the Dutchman. I wanted my piece to contrast the idea of the harsh seas and oceans by making my water calm and have low tides to show that it could be a paradise. I also based my ship designs off of the Jackdaw from Assassin's Creed 4 and the Morrigan from Assassin's Creed Rogue.

The Flying Dutchman by Albert Pinkham Ryder

I started to sketch images that included water and I somehow came to the conclusion that my piece should include a ship. So I took my 2 favorite ships and combined them to make concept of my very own. The Inspiration came from the Jackdaw from Assassin's Creed 4 and the Morrigan from Assassin's Creed Rogue. I chose to stick with a ship because it, for me, resembled the idea of freedom.
Reflection
I wanted my piece to be a bit out dated and have something to do with water so i drew some sketches of water and stuff to do in water. I had like surfing and then the second drawing hooked me. I drew a ship based on a ship from the video game Assassins Creed Rogue, The Morrigan.
